Joseph A. Rigo Obituary
Joseph A. Rigo, age 93, entered into eternal life on July 29, 2018. Joe was born in Fitchburg and was raised in Halifax and Quincy before settling in Braintree. Mr. Rigo was a World War II U.S. Army veteran serving with Co. B 277th Combat Engineers, BN Eight Army. He was an awarded Technical Sergeant participating in combat engagements in the Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central European theaters. He was a self employed HVAC contractor who owned and operated Co-Ri and Alcast Corp. in Avon and Braintree. Prior to retirement, Joe and his wife and partner in life, Rosemary, operated Dusty Corners Antiques and Collectibles in South Weymouth for 18 years. He was the beloved husband of 65 years to Rosemary (Higgins); devoted father of Marianne Rigo of North Grafton, Noreen Clifford and her husband Richard of Braintree, and Steven Rigo and his wife Paulette of Weymouth; grandfather of Lauren Knudsen, Anthony Rigo, Eric Rigo, and Molly Shea; great-grandfather of Liam and Ethan Knudsen and Kensley Rae Rigo; beloved brother of the late Louis Rigo and Lucy Marchant. Funeral services are private. Burial in Central Cemetery in Halifax. If desired, the family requests donations be made in Josephs memory to Fisher House Boston. It is a home-away-from-home for military families of inpatient veterans at Veterans Administration hospitals. The address is Fisher House Boston, P.O.
