Luis F. Seoane Obituary
Luis F. Seoane age 91, of Weymouth, formerly of Boston, died peacefully, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the Sunrise of Braintree assisted living community, surrounded by his loving family. Luis was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Luis F. and Maria (Hernandez) Seoane. His late father was a Mexican diplomat and Luis was raised and educated in Mexico City, Mexico, where he lived for eighteen years. He had lived in Weymouth for the past sixty-three years, previously in Boston. He was employed as a salesman/draftsman in the construction industry for twenty-five years. He then enjoyed his next thirty years working with HUD as a housing inspector and later with the FEMA agency. As a FEMA agent, he would travel across the country assisting people dealing with natural disasters. Luis was a proud World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater as a Seaman 2/c and gunner aboard the destroyer, U.S.S. Leary, (DD-879). He was an artist, especially as a talented woodworker who enjoyed building doll houses and bird houses for family and friends. He was also an antique car enthusiast working and refurbishing many vehicles including a 1929 Ford Model A and a 1949 Ford. Luis was known as a wonderful storyteller. Most of all, he was dedicated to his family, especially to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, supporting all their many activities and accomplishments. Beloved husband for sixty-nine years of Eugenia S. (Faiella) Seoane, who had worked twenty-five years at the South Shore Hospital and later with her sons business, Seoanes Garden Center, up until two years ago. Devoted father of Luis A. Seoane and his wife Jane S. (Hubbell) Seoane of Marshfield, Susan Seoane Blair and her husband Ron A. Blair of Arvada, Colorado, David G. Seoane and his wife Susan (Meagher) Seoane of Norwell. Loving grandfather of Jenna Seoane of Denver, Colo., Kendra Seoane of Boulder, Colo., Corey Blair of Arvada, Colo., Emily Rose Blair and her fianc Kyle Hill of Gunnison, Colo., Michael and David Seoane both of Norwell. Cherished great-grandfather of Aluxzander Blair of Arvada, Colo. and Landon Ash Hill of Gunnison, Colo. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Saturday, June 16, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 oclock.
