Marjorie A. (Mahoney) Cowing, age 73 of Pembroke, died at home surrounded by her family on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her adoring husband of 55 years William R. Cowing of Pembroke. She was born and raised in Rockland and has lived in Pembroke for 45 years. The daughter of the late William and Virginia Mahoney, she was the loving and devoted mother of five daughters Cheryl Ware and her husband Richard of Pembroke; Diane Cowing of Plymouth; Paula Guilford and her husband James of Halifax; Susan Paulson and her husband Jeffrey of Assonet; Cecilia Miller of Halifax. She was the sister of the late Christine Samarelli; the late James Mahoney; Robert Mahoney of Rockland and Virginia Costa of Plymouth. She was Nana to seven grandchildren Rachel Casey of Hanson; Jennifer, Jamie and Billy Guilford of Halifax; Joseph Cowing of Asssonet; Michael and Jesse Miller of Plympton. She was also Nana to five great-grandchildren. She loved and enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed dancing and bowling. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's the Worker Parish in Hanson for over forty years. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte. 14 & 58 in Hanson on Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Rte. 14 in Hanson. Interment in Pembroke Center Cemetery.
