Mary Mason Obituary
Mary Terry Mason, 61, died peacefully on June 12 while in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma. Terry was the mom to four daughters, wife of husband David, and friend to so many others. Daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Grenham) Coleman, she grew up in Dorchester and was a proud student and parishioner of St. Brendans Parish. Terry graduated from Archbishop Williams and earned her degree from Northeastern University. Not long after, Terry married Peter Smith and they settled in East Bridgewater until his passing from cancer a few years later. Introduced by friends, Terry and David married on Oct. 9th 1988, settling in Bridgewater where they raised their four daughters. Terry was a consummate hard worker who was happily employed full-time for over 40 years as an X-ray technician at Good Samaritan Hospital. She loved spending time with her family, being with friends, and going on walks. Her faith was very important to her and was her guiding light through the difficult road of battling cancer. She was the loving wife of David W. Mason and devoted mother of Brittany, Chelsea, Emily, and Ashley, all of Bridgewater. Sister of Joseph Coleman of Holbrook, Ann Coleman of Holbrook, Karen Najjar and her husband Christopher of Quincy, Susan Arancio and her husband John of Hanover, and Denise Connolly of Abington. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The family would also like to thank everyone who helped in the past two years with spending days with her, bringing her to appointments, helping with the girls, or just being a good friend. All are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. Bridgewater on Fri. June 15th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at on Sat. June 16th at St. Ann Church at 10:00am, 660 N. Main St. Raynham followed by a burial at St. Marys Cemetery, Middleboro. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Department of Neuro-Oncology may be made to the attention of Heidi Bergmeyer, Massachusetts General Hospital, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
