Nicholas DeThomaso of Quincy passed away Thursday, April 17, at Brigham & Womens Hospital in Boston. He was 74 years old and the beloved husband of Patricia (Gillis) DeThomaso for 48 years. Born in Quincy, Feb. 15, 1940, he was the loving son of the late Rocco J. and Helen A. (Chiavaroli) DeThomaso. He was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1957, and was the owner and operator of Rocco and Sons Barbershop, where he had worked since 1958. He was a member of the Braintree Rod & Gun Club, former member of the Braintree Sons of Italy, was a musician for many years in a former local band and enjoyed boating with his family. Mr. DeThomaso was the loving father of Lauren, Tina, Debbie and Denise. He was the cherished grandfather of Nicole, Andrew, Matthew, Michael, Anthony, the late Nicholas; and great-grandfather of Tyler and Mason. He was the dear brother of Danny, Dominic, Richard and the late Robert. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Johns Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, Wednesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin Street, Quincy, Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
