Ottanus J. Daukas Obituary
Ottanus J. Okie Daukas passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2014, formerly of Brighton, he had lived in Milton for the past 53 years. Mr. Daukas was a retired employee of the Boston Police Dept. and the U.S. Post. Office. He served in the European Theatre with the U.S Army during WWII. An active, athletic man, he was an avid tennis player, enjoyed dancing and football. The devoted husband of the late Margaret M. (Clogan), he is survived by his loving children, Philip Daukas and his wife, Maria of Weymouth, Edward Daukas of Braintree and Maureen Pickering and her husband Charles of Brea, Calif., his cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Pompeo and her husband Matthew, Stephanie, Samantha and Nicole Daukas, Lacey, Jaclyn and Daniel Pickering, his great-granddaughter, Riley Hernandez and his sister Phyllis Mazeiko of Brockton. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Tuesday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Monday, April 21, 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Milton Cemetery.
