Paul was one tough Italian on the outside but, soft and loving on the inside. He was referred to as the last of the tough guys and he truly was one. He was fiercely independent and lived out his life to the fullest despite many health challenges over the past two years. He was a compassionate, caring and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Throughout his life, Paul showed unconditional love and support for his wife, Ann, her three children and great-grandchildren as well as his own three children. He was a loyal friend and supporter of rescued greyhounds and dad to 4 greyhounds over 30 years. He always said, Thank god for the greyhounds. He retired from Armstrong Cork Company after 31 years of service and served his country in the Navy for 4 1/2 years during World War II. He spent his retirement with his greyhounds, working in the yard, on his house and in his shop. He was an avid collector of model cars, baseball hats and was a diehard sports fan. The family would like to acknowledge and extend their sincere appreciation to the South Shore Hospital staff for their kindness and compassionate care of their father. Graveside services were held in Hanover Cemetery on June 13, 2013. Donations in memory of Paul "Nanoo" can be made to the Greyhound Pets of America, South Shore Chapter, 5 Smith St., Middleboro, MA.
