Richard J. Mikenas, 50 years of age, passed away at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, of a heart condition. He was born in Boston and resided in Whitman for 15 years. He was formerly of Braintree and Randolph. He graduated from Braintree High School and the ITT Technical Institute. Richard had been a repair technician in the medical equipment field. He was the beloved son of Edward J. Mikenas of Braintree and the late Patricia (Johnson) Mikenas. He was the devoted father of Matthew Mikenas of Braintree and Daniel Mikenas of Whiman. He was the loving brother of Edward S. Mikenas and his wife Jane of Murrieta, Calif., John P. Mikenas of Braintree, Linda J. Kelley and her husband Michael of Norton, Karen Ann Schepici and her husband Larry of Troy, N.Y., Laura Ann Mikenas of E. Falmouth and Jennifer M. Tatelbaum and her husband Edward of West Bridgewater. He is also survived by nieces and nephews. His late stepmother was Mary Catherine (Donovan) Mikenas, formerly of Rockland. Visiting hours will be at the Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington St., Braintree, Friday, Jan. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. There will be a gathering at the funeral home Saturday, Jan. 12, at 8 a.m. to be followed by a funeral Mass in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, South Braintree Square, at 9 a.m. Burial will follow at Central Cemetery, Randolph.
