Ronald W. Bakes Baker, age 55, a lifelong Quincy resident, died unexpectedly, Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the Quincy Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Milton and was raised and educated in Quincy schools. Ron was employed for the past fourteen years as a sales route representative for the Thomas English Muffin Company of Wilmington. Previously, he had worked for the Sunbeam Baking Company for twelve years and also as a crane operator for General Dynamics at the former Fore River Shipyard in Quincy for many years. Ron was a member and a former bartender at the Quincy Sons of Italy and also a member of the Quincy Lodge of Elks. Bakes enjoyed his motorcycle, golfing and vacations in Key West, FL and Fort Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL. He was devoted to his family, especially his cherished granddaughter, Cecilia. Beloved husband for thirty-four years of Donna Lee M. (Rossi) Baker. Devoted father of Steven J. Baker and his companion Deanna L. Bianco of Clinton and Jason R. Baker and his wife Elizabeth M. (Allen) Baker of Lee, NH. Loving grandfather of Christopher and Cecilia. Dear son of Cynthia A. (Carpenter) Baker of North Quincy and the late Robert L. Baker. Brother of the late Richard L. Baker and Mark A. Bander of New Hampshire. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday, November 13th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 oclock.
