Suzanne Ridley-Hammond, of Abington, age 48, passed away on Nov. 13, 2012 in Palm Desert, California in a car accident. Suzanne was born on June 22, 1964, a daughter of James "Jimmy" Ridley of Braintree and the late Jaine (Porter) Crowley. She grew up in Abington, and attended local schools. In her early years, Suzanne was proud of her horse "Princess Roni", and showed her off whenever possible. In 1991, Suzanne relocated to Palm Desert, CA and it was there that she raised her daughter Stephanie. Suzanne enjoyed her years in the "Desert" and could often be found "poolside". She became a proud grandmother in 2007, and was thrilled to show off pictures and stories of her grandson. Suzanne loved fishing, camping and spending time outdoors. She will be sadly missed. Suzanne is survived by her daughter, Stephanie J. Hammond of Stoughton, her father James "Jimmy" Ridley of Braintree, her maternal grandmother Mrs. Hazel L. Porter of Torrington, CT, a brother Stephen A. Ridley of Largo, Florida a sister Carolyn Jaine Barclay and her husband Billy of North Conway, N.H. a grandson Julio C. Santos III, Former wife of Steve Hammond of Stoughton. She also leaves a niece and nephew, several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jaine Porter Crowley and her step-father Paul K. Crowley. Memorial visiting hours at the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth Landing on Saturday, Nov. 24, from 12 until 2 p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Interment is private.
