Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

Virginia B. (Maynard) Girouard of Duxbury, formerly of Pembroke and Hingham, entered into eternal rest March 10, 2014, in the company of her children. She passed peacefully after a long illness, at the age of 83. Born in Providence, R.I., Aug. 21, 1930, to the late J. Robert Maynard and Marjorie M. (Buck) Maynard, she was raised in Hingham, graduated from Hingham High School in 1948 and Fisher College in 1950. After working at the Hingham Institution for Savings, she took time off to raise her children before taking a position in customer service administration at Ocean Spray, where she worked until she retired in 1993. Ginny will be remembered for being inquisitive, for her tenacity and creative talents - too many to list, because she surprised her family so many times. She was resourceful and always wanted more, both for herself and for those she loved. Ginny was active in the community and interested in everyone she met. Loving wife of the late Thomas C. Girouard, she is survived by her daughter, Pamela of Pembroke; and son, Thomas W. and his wife Barbara of Lemont, Ill.; and grandchildren, 1st Lt. Bryan B. (U.S. Army) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lt.j.g. Allison M. (U.S. Navy) of San Diego, Calif., and Brendan T. and Sean P. also of Lemont, Ill. She was the sister of John R. Maynard of Cohasset (wife Anna) and the late Nancy Wokoun and Faith L. Allegra. She is also survived by their families as well as a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. Celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014, at 11:30 a.m., in First Baptist Church of Hingham, 85 Main Street, Hingham.
