Walter Fleming Earl, 80, of Duxbury, died April 6, 2013. He was a 56-year veteran of the automobile industry, beginning his career with Chevrolet Motor Division in Detroit, Mich., before moving to Massachusetts. In 1983, he purchased a Chevrolet dealership in Bridgewater. Walter Earl Chevrolet was prominent in the area and noted for the sale of Corvettes. In 2000, Walter was named auto dealer of the year from Massachusetts, an annual event sponsored by Time Magazine. He retired in 2004. Walter is survived by his wife, Margaret; and children, Martin and Luisa Nobre Earl of Coimbra, Portugal, and Andrew and Mary Jane York of Durham, N.C.; a grandson, Samuel York of Chicago; brother and sister-in-law, James and Valerie Earl of Hingham; and a niece, Cathleen Kelley of Rockport. Visiting hours from the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Rte. 106, Kingston, Wednesday, April 10, from 4-7 p.m. Interment is private.
