William J. Reed of Duxbury, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012. Son of the late Fred L. Reed Sr. and Verna M. (Peterson) Reed, he is survived by his children, Ginger Arocha of Oklahoma, Deborah Shaw and husband James of Oklahoma, Richard C. Brown III and wife Raymie, Mathew L. Brown, Amanda Cushman and Christopher Jehlicka, all of Massachusetts; his brother, Fred L. Reed Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Maine; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. He is also survived by his beloved dogs, DeeDee and Jody. William retired at age 73 from Road to Responsibility in Marshfield after 26 years of devoted service. He was an established artist and teacher of oil and pastel painting and loved playing classical music on his baby grand piano. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Bills life Friday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 222 Main St., Kingston. The celebrant will be his old friend the Rev. Judy Campbell of Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Jimmy Fund or South Shore Hospice.
