William Patrick Sutterley, 91, of Quincy passed away Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, after a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Lillian (Ovaska) Sutterley. Born in New Hope, Pa., he was the son of the late Lora (Kelly) and Charles Raymond Sutterley. William served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the World War II era. Mr. Sutterley was longtime member of the Weymouth United Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 95. A glass glazer by trade, he worked for many years at Karsas & Karsas Glass. Bill always enjoyed fishing, hunting and square dancing. He was the loving father of John Charles Sutterley of Livingston, Texas, and his companion Jane Smith; dear brother of Rita Scudder of Arlington, Va.; cherished grandfather of William Kenneth Sutterley of Brandenburg, Ky., and his wife Patricia and Steven Charles Sutterley of Stoughton. He is also survived by four great-granddaughters; and was the longtime friend of Kathleen Newman. Visiting hours are Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center, from 4-8 p.m. A Masonic service by the Weymouth United Masonic Lodge will begin at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
