Michael C. of Quincy, died Jan. 20, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 61 years of Clara D. (Giordano) Cardillo, he was the loving father of Christine A. Ambrose and her husband Joseph of Quincy, Michael R. Cardillo and his wife Karen of Canton, Ann C. Philbrook and her husband Carl of Randolph, Patricia D. Thornton and her husband Paul of Randolph, Diane C. Coletta and her husband PJ of Weymouth, and Robert M. Cardillo and his wife Cindy of Dedham; grandfather of Alex, Susana, Matthew, Paul J., Christina, and Nicholas. Born in Boston, he had lived in Dorchester for many years before moving to Quincy about 40 years ago. Michael was a talented musician for many years playing the Bass. Until his retirement, he was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Michael was also a proud World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Navy. He will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Quincy. A celebration of life service will be held in the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Quincy, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
