Obituary Condolences

Joan J. (Nee) Jacobs, age 79, a lifelong Quincy resident, died peacefully, Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Norwood Hospital. Joan was born in Boston, raised and educated in Quincy schools and was a graduate of North Quincy High School, Class of 1952. She was employed as an administrative assistant with the New England Telephone Company for many years in the Boston office and retired in 1994. She was a member of the New England Telephone Pioneers. Joan was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. She was devoted to her family and especially to her five cherished grandchildren. Beloved wife of the late Robert V. Jacobs, she was the devoted mother of Christopher R. Jacobs of Franklin, Mary E. Jacobs of Quincy, Patricia A. Crowley and her husband Brian of Taunton; loving grandmother of Stephanie E. Hyman, Courtney M. Hyman, Corey G. Jacobs, Brianna N. Crowley and Sean P. Crowley; dear sister of Marilyn Molly Marshall of Quincy, Marguerite Marge Kelly of Norwood and was predeceased by Martin B. Nee and Lorraine M. Dzengeleski. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy, at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
