Robert Poth, 83 years of age, entered Life Eternal on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth. He was born in Clifton, NJ He was raised in Clifton, NJ and graduated from High School there. He entered the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean conflict as a radio operator. He received several medals and decorations for his service. After serving in the U.S. Navy he graduated from Boston University with a degree in journalism. Robert was a copy editor for The Patriot Ledger for a number of years before retiring in 1998. He resided in Braintree for more than thirty years and then moved to Weymouth for the past twenty years. He was the beloved husband of the late Irene Eunice (Ford) Poth who died in 2003. He was the devoted father of Lisa Marie Poth of Plymouth, Robert Stephen Poth of Pembroke and Laurie Ann Eleuteri married to David Eleuteri of Braintree. He is survived by three grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew and Emily Eleuteri of Braintree. He was the loving brother of Joan Poth of Marietta, GA. Visiting hours will be at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree on Wednesday, February 19th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 20th at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Saint Michaels Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
