Peter Paul Costa Sr., a man of integrity, honor, benevolence and generosity, 83 years of age, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at his residence in Linden Ponds, Hingham on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Peter was born in Boston and attended Boston Schools, graduating from South Boston High School. After high school, Peter entered the Army during the Korean Conflict in 1952 and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After his discharge from the Army, Peter married the love of his life and his soul mate Dorothy Shkliew. Peter attended Northeastern University night classes and received his Bachelors Degree in Engineering Management in 1961. He also received Associates Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. While going to school and raising a family, he managed several machine shops and sheet metal fabrication businesses prior to starting his own company Precision Sheet Metal Company of Braintree in 1970. His integrity and craftsmanship helped build a successful business. His company built high tech housings for the medical field, the aerospace field and the computer industry. Peter built the housing for the first CAT scan machine. He had been a Braintree resident for 1966 until 2006 when he moved to Linden Ponds in Hingham. While living at Linden Ponds he was known as the Director of Card Playing and got several of the residents interested in playing different card games. After the death of his wife, he found love again with Roseanne Tolland formerly of Braintree who died in 2011. Peters greatest passion was loving and serving his family and all those around him. He had cared lovingly for his wife Dorothy who was afflicted with MS until her death in 2004. Peter was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy (Shkliew) Costa. He was the loving and devoted father of Pamela J. Mahoney of Quincy, Michael P. Costa married to Jane of Knoxville, TN, Nancy Cuddemi married to John of Kingston, Peter P. Costa Jr. married to Patricia of Goffstown, NH, George R. Costa married to Wendy of Falmouth, and Leah Fraga married to Rick Ito of Diamond Springs, CA. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was brother of the late Lillian Christo and the late Sam DiCosta. Visiting hours will be held at the Mortimer N. Peck-Russell Peck Funeral Home, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, MA on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 4-8 p.m. A Service with Family Remembrances will be at the funeral home on Saturday, February 22nd at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Braintree Cemetery, Braintree.
