Teresa Byrne Obituary
Teresa (Shanahan) Byrne, age 85, entered into eternal life March 22, 2014. Teresa was born in County Tipperary, Ireland, settled in Boston before moving to Weymouth in 2003. Teresa was a retired state employee. She was a parishioner of Saint Jerome Church. Teresa was a loving mother to her family, loved bingo, her pets and gardening. Beloved wife of the late Christopher Byrne, she was the devoted mother of Christopher P. Byrne, Philomena Alice Lyons, Patrick Byrne, Catherine T. Fitzgerald, Marie B. Byrne and John J. Byrne, all of Weymouth, and Thomas Byrne of Scituate; and loving grandmother to Ian and Teresa Fitzgerald, Anthony and Ayla Byrne, Thomas, Garreth, and Hugh Byrne, Michael and Meghan Lyons, Kimberly OHanley, Christopher Byrne IV and the late Robert Byrne, Patrick and Michael Donato, and Jenny Poisson. Also, survived by 10 great-grandchildren. She was the beloved sister of James and Thomas Shanahan, both of England. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth, Wednesday, March 26, at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Jerome Church, North Weymouth, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 2-4 and 6 until 9 p.m. Burial in Old North Cemetery, Weymouth. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to Boston Catholic Television, P.O. Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471, or to Saint Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
