Francis X. Delaney Obituary
Francis X. Delaney passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, his loving family by his side. Born in Boston 72 years ago, he was a resident of Dorchester before moving to Milton 43 years ago. Frank was a graduate of Charlestown High School. A 52 | year member of IBEW Local # 103, he was employed as an electrician until his retirement in 1990. During the Vietnam War he served as a Navy SeaBee. He was an avid reader, loved science and enjoyed his old cars. He is survived by his beloved wife, Margaret E. Peggy (Laffan) of Milton, his devoted children; Caroline Sweeney and her husband Charles of Milton, William C. and his wife Stefanie of Woburn and John R. Delaney and his wife Kristen of N.Y. and his cherished grandchildren; Owen F., Julia E., John F. and Sophia G. Delaney and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was the brother of Virginia Ray of Woburn, John F. and Jean Delaney and Helen LHeaurex all of Dorchester and the late Paul, Arthur, Leo, William And the Rev. Thomas Delaney, S.J. , Pauline Ziniti, and Mary Corbett. Beloved brother-in-law of Marie McDermott. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, Milton on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Saturday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in MA National Cemetery, Bourne Tuesday at 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wounded Warriors, 4899 Belfort Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. www.alfreddthomas.com Alfred D.
