Marion E. (Downey) Sayward, a Weymouth resident for 60 years, formerly of Hingham, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, at the age of 91. She was born in Hingham, where she lived until 1953. Prior to her marriage, she worked as a clerk in the Hingham Town Accountant's Office. She was dedicated to her family and especially in the care of her husband, Lyman W. Sayward Jr., who suffered from polio and died in 1985. She was the mother of Edmund E. Sayward and his wife Sandra of Carver, Donald D. Sayward and his wife Susan of Plymouth and Susan E. Nicastro and her husband Joseph of Weymouth; grandmother of Ed Jr., Brian, Kerri, Jill, Michael, Matthew and Darren. Also survived by 9 great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham, Sunday, March 30, from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the Downing Chapel Monday, March 31, at 11 a.m. The interment is to be private.
