Margaret T. Hewitt, of Weymouth, age 94, continued on into eternal life on March 29, 2014. Margaret was born and raised in Roxbury and has lived in Weymouth at Union Towers I for 35 years with many dear neighbors and friends through the years. Ms. Hewitt was the supervisor of the mailroom at the former United Car Fastener Company in Cambridge for 43 years. Margaret loved her bingo, Castle Island hot dogs, dancing, and most of all, spending time with her family. She faithfully attended religious services and other activities at the Towers. Margaret was a faithful communicant of Immaculate Conception Church. Beloved daughter of the late Mary and John Hewitt. Beloved sister of the late Mary Fran Hewitt. She was predeceased by eight other siblings. Loving aunt to John McGinty of Weymouth, James McGinty and his wife, Maddie of Weymouth, Joseph and his wife, Patricia of Franklin, Joseph and his wife, Leanne McGinty of North Attleboro, Michelle McGinty and her husband, Steven Barash of Crofton, Maryland. Christopher McGinty and his wife, Christine of South Hero, Vermont, Maureen Langille and her husband, Aiden of Quincy, Kathleen Carnes and her husband, Richard of Middleboro, Thomas Hewitt and his wife, Joanne of Franklin, Ann Marie Walker of Rockland, and many other nieces and nephews. Great-great aunt to Savannah, Olivia, Emme Rose, and Elle. Dear friend of Ellen Griffin and Angela DiVirgilio, both of Weymouth and the late Frank Sullivan. Margarets family wishes to thank the staff of the Colonial Nursing Home for their care. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home, 100 Washington St., Weymouth on Wednesday, April 2, at 9:30 a.m. Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, East Weymouth at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m. and 7 until 8:30 p.m. Burial in Village Cemetery, Weymouth. To honor her life, her family suggests imitating her giving and caring ways to others.
