Obituary Condolences

Philomena Mary Veronica (Naughton) Galligan passed away peacefully in the company of her family, April 13, 2014. Born in Garrafine, Ireland, Aug. 11, 1937, she was a Hull resident for more than 40 years, where she raised her four children; two of whom were Special Olympians. A devout Catholic, true friend, and dedicated advocate for the developmentally and physically disabled, Philomena had a true Irish heart and a strong and gracious spirit. She never lost sight of her Irish roots, frequently speaking Gaelic and dancing to her favorite Irish music. She was known for her colorful personality, her love of animals, and her ability to make all holidays special. The beloved wife of William T. for 49 years, she is was the devoted mother of Lisa M. of Petaluma, Calif., Paul J of Weymouth, John P. of Hull and the late William C. and Mary K. She is survived by sisters, Carmel and Kathleen of Milton, Helen of Abington, Ann of Sheffield, England, Mary of Ireland; and brother, Patrick of Ireland. She was predeceased by sisters, Margaret, Bridget, and Agnes, and brother, Christopher. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Agatha Church, Milton, Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visiting will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Wednesday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., prior to Mass. Interment in Mt. Benedict Cemetery, West Roxbury. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in honor of Philomena may be made to VinFin, the , the Rheumatoid Arthritis, or to Halleck Creek Ranch Therapeutic Horseback Riding program in Nicasio, Calif. www.alfreddthomas.com Alfred D.
