Shirley Ann (Fillippini) Teixeira, age 71, died peacefully May 5, 2014, at the Life Care Center of Plymouth, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Arnold Manuel Teixeira. Born in Plymouth, April 21, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Elliott Fillippini and Beatrice M. (Silva) Lopes. She was educated in Plymouth and was a graduate of Plymouth High School, Class of 1961. For over 30 years, she was employed by Jordan Hospital where she worked as the manager of the Dietary Department. Following her retirement from Jordan Hospital, she had worked at Walmart as a sales associate. Shirley enjoyed working with crafts, crocheting, and playing Yatzee and bingo, as a few of her favorite hobbies. She was the loving mother of Tina Reed of Duxbury, Lisa Newton of Forestdale Lori Teixeira of Marshfield, and John Teixeira of Duxbury. She was the beloved sister of Theresa Crump of Plympton, Rosemary Teixeira of Plymouth, June Miranda of Onset, Gloria Andrews of Plymouth, JoAnne Burns of Plymouth, Vickie Chaplin of Kingston, Elliott Fillippini of Bristol, Conn., William Fillippini of Carver, Joseph Lopes of Manomet, and Steven Lopes of Boston. She was the cherished grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 4. The visitation will be held Friday morning from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, followed by a service at 11 in the funeral home. Cremation took place in Vine Hills Crematory with burial to follow the service in St. Josephs Cemetery, Kingston.
