Robert J. Foley, 79, of Hanover, formerly of Quincy, died peacefully surrounded by family Saturday, June 14, at the NVNA Hospice Home in Hingham. The son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Merrill) Foley, he was born in Boston, April 2, 1935. He was a salesman for wholesale plumbing and heating. Robert enjoyed going for coffee to see who showed up at MaryLous and enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was the husband of the late Dorothy Grace (MacDonald) Foley, and is survived by their children, Kathleen Ann Foley of Hyannis, Kevin Francis Foley of Castro Valley, Calif., James Michael Foley of Marshville, N.C., Robert Joseph Foley Jr. of Hanson. He is also survived by his sister, Ellen Miller of Fla.; and he was the brother to the late Walter Foley, Francis Foley, and Margaret Wynne. He was the grandfather to 6 grandchildren. Robert is also survived by his longtime companion, Maureen Church of Hanson. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, Hanover, Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church, 392 Hanover St., Rte. 139, in Hanover.
