Frederick J. Butts, age 83, passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family, Sunday, June 22. Formerly of Milton and Dorchester, Mr. Butts was a Korean War Army veteran, a retired Real Estate and Insurance Broker of C. Butts Realtor, Dorchester, a member of K. of C. Council 2259, Quincy, Milton Post 114, A.L., and an amateur radio operator. The beloved husband of Alice B. (McKenna), he is also survived by his devoted children, Daniel J. and his wife Cindy of R.I., Nancy Genesky and her husband Mark of Norfolk, Edward and his wife Laurie of Melrose, Patricia A. Voss and her husband Jon of Wakefield, and James J. and his wife Kellie of Quincy; his first grandchild, to whom he was a father figure, Kristi Copson and her husband Paul of Wakefield; his 12 cherished grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren; and his loving brothers and sisters, Charles of Milton, Doris Panza of N.J., Frances Heavey of Quincy, Rita Garside of Dorchester, Alice Gallagher of Weymouth, and John of Plymouth. He was the brother of the late Marie Gillum and Joseph Butts of Hyde Park. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, No. Quincy, Friday at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Milton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Sherrill House, Alzheimers Unit, 135 So.
