Frances T. (MacDonald) McLaughlin, age 94, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Fran was born and raised in Boston and graduated from the former Gate of Heaven Elementary School, South Boston High School and the Mansfield Beauty Academy. She had lived in Quincy since 1952. She was the former owner and operator of Maries Beauty Shop on Billings Road in North Quincy for ten years. Fran was devoted to her family. Beloved wife for sixty-eight years of John F. McLaughlin, she was the devoted mother of Joseph E. McLaughlin and his companion Donna, and the late John F. McLaughlin, Jr. and Jane E. Minton; loving grandmother of James W. Jamie Minton, Carolyn J. McLaughlin and Melissa Anne Lewis; sister of Jean Breen and her husband Harry of Quincy, Virginia MacDonald of Quincy and was predeceased by Helen Hardigan, Phyllis Dailey and John MacDonald. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, June 30, at 11 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School St., Quincy, at 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
