Walter Stanley Unis, longtime resident of Marshfield, 91, died August 7, 2014. Born in Simpson, PA, he served in the United States Army as an MP at the end of World War II. He had a BA from Scranton University and a MA from Villanova University in education. He taught science first in Philadelphia, PA and then in the Marshfield school systems for a total of 31 years. He was also a counselor at Camp Daniel Webster and a Little League coach and umpire. He is survived by his wife, Anne (Norton); his seven children, Joanne, Mary Jeanne, Robert, Walter Jr., Mark, Stephen, and Julia; his ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cody, Patrick, Riley, Erin, Shawn, Nancy, Linda, Elaine, and Kaitlyn; and one great-grandchild Conner. Walter will always be remembered for his life-long love of teaching and coaching. Viewing hours and a funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Church, 40 Canal St., in Marshfield, on August 13.
