Ronald Ronnie Pomella, 74, of Marshfield, died August 18, 2014. He was the husband of Sharon (Peterson) Pomella of Plymouth; loving father of Laurie Mannix and her husband Andy of Brant Rock, Ronald Pomella Jr. of Naples, Fla., and Tracey MacKinnon and her husband Michael of Marshfield; cherished grandfather of Caitlyn and Cristina Pomella, Michael and Justine MacKinnon and Nicole Boutiette and her husband Billy; and his grand-puppy, Shellby; brother of Robert Pomella of Kittery, Maine, Elaine Feely of Waltham, the late Thomas Pomella and Edward Pomella. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronnie was born and raised in Brighton and summered in Marshfield for many years before settling with Sharon in the summer of 1960. Ronnie was a successful entrepreneur of many trades while being an influential member of the Marshfield, Scituate, and fishing communities for decades. Besides being a businessman, he was a dedicated family man. Ronnie loved being a father, uncle, and grandfather. He looked forward to taking his family to Marthas Vineyard each August. Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139, Marshfield, Thursday, August 21, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the funeral home Friday, August 22, at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St., Marshfield, at 10 a.m. A private interment will be held at a later date.
