Quincy Flagg Dennison Maloney, of Quincy, age 78, died Thursday, July 17, 2008 at his home after a brief illness. Mr. Maloney was born in Newton, raised and educated in Newton schools. He graduated from Newton High School. He had lived in Quincy for the last 41 years. He worked for 38 years at the Colonial Provision Company. He recently worked for Fitz-Inn Auto Parks. He retired 5 years ago. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He earned the rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart. Beloved husband for 51 years of Marion L. (Wilson) Maloney. Devoted father of Sheryl A. Cavanaugh of Pembroke, Donna M. Ricciardi and her husband Victor of Halifax, and Kristine L. Gentile and her husband John of Braintree. Loving grandfather of Brittany, Luke, and Morgan. He was one of six siblings and is survived by Arlene Farago of Waltham and Wallace Maloney, Jr. of Newton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Monday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Sunday 3 7 p.m. Interment with Military Honors at a cemetery to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Maloneys memory may be made to the Norwell VNA/Hospice Inc., 91 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061.
