Mrs. Marion T. (Silva) Gavin, 68 of Hanson, formerly of Charlestown, died at home Thursday, July 15, 2010 after a long illness. She was born in Charlestown on November 25, 1941 and has lived in Hanson for 40 years. Mrs. Gavin was retired from Verizon Communications where she worked in the Business Office. She is survived by her husband Edward J. Govie Gavin; 3 sons, Edward J. Gavin Jr. and his wife Sue of Halifax, Gregory Gavin of East Bridgewater and Christopher Gavin and his wife Sara of East Bridgewater; grandmother of Zoe, Abby and Christopher of East Bridgewater and Mia of Halifax. She was the sister of the late George F. Silva and Anne Marie Elliott. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St., at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in HANSON on Monday from 8:30-10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St., Rte 14 in Hanson. Interment at a later date.
