John H. Clancy Obituary
John Henry Clancy, of Braintree, (formerly of Wollaston), August 29. Beloved husband of Deborah C. (DeNicola). He was the devoted father of John Henry Clancy Jr. of Brockton, Paul Douglas Clancy of NY, Melinda Therese Clancy of Weymouth and the late Timothy Clancy. He was the beloved son of the late James and Marion Clancy and brother of Maryellen Kelly, Joseph F. Clancy, both of Milton, Michael B. Clancy of Weymouth, Matthew S. Clancy of Melrose, Julie E. Kenerson, Steven D. Clancy, both of Hull, Eileen C. Pantano of Quincy, Christopher W. Clancy of Scituate and the late Margaret A. Lavery, James B. Clancy Jr. and Martha J. Clancy. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree Friday at noon. The visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. John was the owner of Alliance Plumbing & Heating Corp., Braintree for the past 24 years, and the former plumbing foreman at Boston University. He was a renowned Irish Tenor who performed in many operas for the Italian-American Club and The Boston Opera School. He was a devout Catholic, member of the Knights of Columbus Braintree Council #1462. John shared his musical talent with many parishes in the Boston and South Shore area as a cantor. He performed at numerous fundraisers for various organizations, and the Veteran Hospital, being a Vietnam Navy veteran himself. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery.
