Donald E. Joe Cozzens, 81, of Littleton died suddenly at Emerson Hospital in Concord on January 19, 2012. Donald was born in Ayer on September 30, 1930, son of the late Lyndsey and Mildred (Ewing) Cozzens. He grew up in Littleton and was a graduate of Littleton School System, where he played baseball for the Hornets. Don then attended UMass Amherst where he received a BS Degree in Engineering. He was commissioned in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and served in France until 1957. He moved back to Concord and worked as an engineer for Diamond, Mitre, and Raytheon. In 1979 he accepted a job with the United Nations in Switzerland where he lived for 10 years. Mr. Cozzens returned to Littleton in 1989 where he has since worked as a real estate appraiser. He was a member of the Board of the Littleton Historical Society, served the Town of Littleton on the board of Assessors, a member of Council on Aging and Meals on Wheels His survivors include his wife Margaret (Byrne) Cozzens of Littleton, his children Mark Cozzens and his wife Lynda Lee Berry, Brian Cozzens and his wife Janet of Littleton, Dona Rizzitano of Littleton, Jane Johnson and her husband Casey of Littleton, Joanne Lyons and her husband Bruce of Townsend, Margaret Cozzens of Littleton and Amy Cozzens and her husband Ed Coykendall of Littleton. His grandchildren Meegan, Thomas, Heidi, Christina, Stephanie, Curtis, Ryan, Kyle, Maria, Andrea, Alex, Erin and Sean. He was also the brother of the late Robert Cozzens. Funeral from the Badger Funeral Home, 347 King St., Littleton on Monday, January 23 at 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Annes Church, 75 King St., Littleton at 11:30 a.m., visiting hours will be Sunday from 4 - 8 p.m. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery Littleton.
