Howard Augustus Williams, age 87, of Wrentham and longtime resident of Sharon, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 20, 2012. Born in Harrogate, Tennessee, on Dec. 29, 1924, he was the beloved husband of Frankie Williams, to whom he was married in June, 1945. Howard served in the Army as an infantry scout in WWII and later graduated from the University of North Carolina and Harvard Business School. He worked for 25 years at New England Mutual Life Insurance, ultimately serving as a Senior Vice President. In his a second career, he taught business courses at Barrington College (RI) and later was a professor of business at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy. He served on a number of boards of directors, including the YMCA of Boston. Howard was a founder of the Evangelical Baptist Church of Sharon and an active member for many years. Recently he was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Wrentham. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, January and Susan Williams; Richard and Patricia (Williams) Holloway; Timothy and Margaret Williams of Sharon; and Mark and Susan (Williams) Woods of Cambridge; and his five grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m., at Trinity Episcopal Church, Rt. 140, in Wrentham (just east of Rte. 1A).
