Mary C. Murphy, age 54, of Braintree died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, after a long illness. She was born in Quincy, raised and educated in Braintree schools and was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1976. She was a lifelong Braintree resident. Mary enjoyed music, dancing and scratch tickets. She especially enjoyed being with her family. Beloved daughter of Margaret A. (Keegan) Murphy of Braintree and the late John J. Murphy, Jr. Devoted sister of Kathleen M. Murphy of Braintree, Kevin J. Murphy, Chief, Braintree Fire Dept., Retired and his wife Sarah of Braintree, Michael W. Murphy, MA State Police and his wife Patti of Rockland, Brian J. Murphy of Braintree, John P. Murphy, Deputy Chief, Scituate Fire Dept. and his wife Genevieve of Scituate, Patricia M. Murphy of Braintree, Matthew J. Murphy and his wife Dawn of Westfield, Brenda L. Murphy of Onset, the late Thomas P. Murphy and her late sister Sharon A. Murphy who also died January 24, 2013. Loving aunt of Joseph, Adam and James Antonowicz, Caitlin and Ryan Murphy, Erin Clark, Amanda Hall and Brian Murphy, Jr., Lillian Murphy, Maxwell, Madison, Meghan and Marlow Murphy, T.J., Tayla and Troy Isaac. Also survived by eleven grandnieces and grandnephews as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Mary and her sister Sharon at Saint Thomas More Church, corner of Hawthorn Road and Elm Street, Braintree, Saturday, January 26th at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. At the request of the family, interment will be private. Immediately following the Funeral Mass, family and friends are invited to a reception at the Braintree Sons of Italy, 161 King Hill Road, Braintree.
