Gerald Arthur Giagrando, 72, passed away Jan. 27, at home, surrounded by loved ones, in Falmouth. Affectionately known as Jerry G., his zest for life continues with his wife, Linda (Slobodkin); his son, David; daughter, Alyssa; and son-in-law, Michael Maravelias. Jerry was the loving and proud Grampy of Olivia, Gavin and Logan, who will miss him very much. Originally from Hull, Milton and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Jerry was the son of the late Clementino and Hazel Giagrando; and son-in law of Ina and the late Myron Slobodkin. Jerry also loved his sisters, Phyllis Noterman, Nancy Lanata and the late Lois Foley. He was brother-in-law of Arthur Noterman, John Lanata, and Michael and Andrea Slobodkin; Godfather to the late Johnny Lanata. Jerry was also an uncle, a cousin and a dear and loyal friend to many. Jerry was a fixture on the South Shore and best known as the proprietor of Waveland Marina in Hull and later as a well-respected and successful yacht broker and mentor to many in the boating industry. With chamois and mop in hand, he loved his family, friends, his dog Sadie, the ocean, boating, fishing, hunting, his cars, watches, and sitting on the Baroness holding court on the docks. Relatives and friends are invited to share favorite stories and memories as we celebrate Jerrys life Saturday, Febr. 2, 2013, at the Coonamessett Inn, 311 Gifford St., Falmouth, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. with a service beginning at 2.
