David J. Polito, age 72,of Middleboro, MA, died on Feb. 28, 2013 at the Lee Memorial Hospital in Ft. Myers, Fl. He was the devoted husband of Christine A. (Thompson) Polito of Middleboro, MA. Born in Boston, MA on July 21, 1940, he was a son of the late Joseph and Rose (Pettograsso) Polito. He was educated in Weymouth Schools and had entered the US Army following his high school graduation. Mr. Polito had worked for most of his life as a mechanic and truck driver until his retirement in 2005. He had lived in Middleboro for the past 10 years, previously residing in Duxbury, MA. He enjoyed bowling, playing bocce and chair volleyball. He held a passion to automobiles and was a member of the Connecting Rods of Halifax. Besides leaving his wife of 48 years, David was the loving father of Adam and his wife Reni Polito of Plymouth and Janet Polito of Plymouth. He was the beloved brother of the late Lucy Farrell and cherished grandfather of Rose and Christopher Polito. Visiting hours will be held at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will take place at the St. Pauls Church of the Nazarene in Duxbury on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by interment in Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
