Michael J. MacDonald, 65, of Hanson, formerly of Duxbury, passed away April 17, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 26, 1947, in Providence, R.I., Michael was the son of Margaret (Reagan) MacDonald and the late George MacDonald, and brother of Luna Smith and her husband Rodney of Naples, Fla. After graduating from Randolph High School in 1965, Michael served in the Air Force before beginning his career in sales and as an independent business owner. Michael shared his lifelong love, knowledge, and passion for cars with his friends and loved ones. From car racing as a teenager through his years as a successful salesman at Peter Fuller Cadillac, up to cultivating his recent collection of sports cars, Michael liked nothing better than going for a long drive with the windows down and the music playing on a beautiful day with his friends and family. Michael is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Leary) MacDonald; his daughters, Michaela Robbins and her husband DJ Robbins of Norwell and Leah Koenecke and her husband Jeffrey of Kingston; and his son, Michael MacDonald Jr. of Boston. He is also survived by his four beautiful grandchildren, Shane, Ethan, Graham, and Trevor. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., in Hanover, Sunday from 2-5 p.m. Funeral home service will take place Monday at 10 a.m. Interment in Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell.
