N. June (Maxson) Columbus, of Quincy, age 90, died peacefully, Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at the William B. Rice Eventide Home in Quincy, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Marble Rock, Iowa, raised and educated in Iowa and has lived in Quincy for sixty-seven years. June was a dental assistant and worked for ten years at the office of Daniel Madden DMD in Quincy and has been retired many years. She had previously worked several years at the City of Quincys Health Department. She was a longtime active member of The Covenant Church of Quincy. June was a World War II veteran having served as a Hospital Apprentice First Class in the U.S. Navy. Beloved wife of the late Edward J. Columbus, Captain, Q.F.D., retired. Devoted mother of Edward J. Columbus III, Lieut., Q.F.D., retierd, and his wife Nancy of Rockland, Ruth A. Cecchini and her husband Richard of Weymouth, Paula J. Casey of Braintree, John J. Columbus and his wife Dianne of Hanover and the late Janice J. Columbus. Loving grandmother of eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Ruth Cobis of Whitman, Gary Maxson of FL, John Maxson of CA, the late Dean Maxson and Margie Bennett.. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at The Covenant Church of Quincy, 315 Whitwell Street, Quincy on Friday, Sept. 27 at 10 o'clock. Pastor Karen Palmatier will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
