Robert Emerson Tibbetts, age 77, died peacefully surrounded by his family March 20, 2014, in Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Jeanette Ann (Victoria) Tibbetts. Born in Plymouth, May 1, 1936, Mr. Tibbetts was the son of the late Hayden and Olga M. (Lenzi) Tibbetts. He was educated in Plymouth schools and had worked at Marshfield Sand and Gravel, Malaguti Brothers in Plymouth and retired following 24 years of service from the Plimoth Plantation where he had been the grounds keeper and worked in maintenance. Bob was well known in the Plymouth community and had been active in several area clubs, the Garibaldi Club, Cold Spring Club, Christoforo Columbo Club and the Unity Club. He held a strong love for animals, dedicating his compassionate energy and time to the Standish Humane Society in Duxbury for many years. Besides leaving his beloved wife of 50 years, Bob was the loving father of John Victoria-Tibbetts of Plymouth. He was the cherished brother of Joan (Tibbetts) Randall and her husband Robert of Hillsboro, N.H., and Janice (Tibbetts) OKeefe and her husband Daniel of Plymouth. He also leaves his nieces, Stacey Skowronski and her husband Stan, Kim Diamond and her husband Bruce, Debbie Christofori and her husband Kenneth; and his nephew, Robert Randall Jr. of Nashville, Tenn. Visitation will take place Tuesday morning, March 25, 2014, at the Cartmell Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Cremation will take place in Vine Hills Crematory, Plymouth. Interment will follow the funeral service at St. Josephs Cemetery, Plymouth. Donations in his memory may be made to the Standish Humane Society, P.O.
