Edward Paul "Ned" Kirby, 88, a lifelong resident of Whitman, died Tuesday, January 3, 2017, after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband to Mary Alice Kirby for 60 years; father of Matthew Kirby, Jane Kirby- Zaki and Thomas Kirby, also 7 grandchildren and one great-grandson. His funeral service will be held Friday, January 13, at 9:15 a.m. from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Saint James Cemetery, Whitman.
