Richard H. Mahan
Scituate Richard H. Mahan of Scituate, died at home after a long illness, surrounded by his family on October 23, 2007 at the age of 82. Husband of the late Shirley L. (Batiste) and Catherine B. (Sylvester). Richard was born in Easton and raised in Brockton. He moved his family to Scituate in 1953. Richard served in the Army during WW II with Company A 1254th Engineers Combat Battalion and received the Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon and Victory Medal. He enjoyed frequent trips to Prince Edward Island. Loving father of Shirley L. Burns of Groveland, FL, Patricia Santiano of Brockton, Judith Sladen of Scituate, Nancy Susens of Virginia Beach, Richard W. Mahan of NH and Chardon B. Mahan of Marshfield. Step-father of Beryl Danker of Scituate, Barbara Heim of Harvard and Janet Headden of Georgia. Brother of Irene Smith of Nantucket. Also survived by 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and dear friend Darlene Steverman. Son of the late Chardon B.
