Carol A. Blute Milton Carol A. (Guinazzo) Blute, of Milton, retired Assistant Town Administrator for the Town of Milton and a devoted community volunteer, died at her home on Friday, December 21, 2007. She was 71. Carol was born in Boston and lived in Milton her entire life. She was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in Dorchester and Bentley College. She was known for her devotion to the Town of Milton and served the in town government for 21 years. Most of those years were with the Board of Selectmens Office where she rose to serve as Assistant Town Administrator. In that position, she was involved with virtually every aspect of town government and was relied on for her knowledge of town affairs. She was so well respected that after she retired, she was asked to serve as the clerk to the towns Warrant Committee, a position she remained committed to despite her illness. Carol was also a committed volunteer who devoted innumerable hours to her community. She was a longtime Town Meeting Member and a past President of the Alofa Malia Club which supports the Marist Sisters. She also has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Pine Tree Brook Association, the Trailside Museum Advisory Committee, the Board of Directors of the Milton Visiting Nurse Association and the Warren Avenue Civic Association. She was a woman of deep faith and was an active member of St. Mary of the Hills Parish. Over the years, she was involved in many parish activities including service as a sacristan, eucharistic minister and as a member of the parish choir. She also was very connected to the youth of the parish serving as a CCD teacher, a CYO adult advisor and as a softball coach. In recognition of her many years of service, Bernard Cardinal Law presented Carol with an award for her devotion to the youth of the Archdiocese of Boston. Carol loved golf and had traveled to play in Ireland only a few months ago. She was a member of the Ladies Association at Presidents Golf Course in Quincy. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Blute, the loving mother of Richard F. Blute, Jr. of Canada and Daniel J. Blute of Milton, the loving Nana to Colin Blute and the sister of the late Richard E. Guinazzo. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton on Monday, December 24 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Burial will follow in Milton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the Dolan Funeral Home 460 Granite Avenue Milton on Sunday from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carols memory may be made to the Carol A.
