Dot Beason
GAFFNEY, SC-- Dorothy Jane Greene Beason, 89, of 305 Beason Road, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at her residence.
Born in Cliffside, NC, she was the widow of the late James Marshall Beason and was the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha Self Greene. Mrs. Beason was a 1943 graduate of Cliffside High School, was a homemaker, and was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church where she faithfully served as custodian for over 20 years.
Surviving is a son, Rev. Dr. J. Roger Beason, Sr. and wife, Trudy, of Columbus, KS; a daughter, Jane Young-Beason and husband, Bobby Young, of Gaffney; five grandchildren, Shannon Kitchens and husband, Andy, Chad Beason and wife, Michelle, P. J. Childers and wife, Jessica, Jamie Beason and Tyler Childers; nine great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Grant, Bailey, Julianna, Jayna, Jenna, Maddox, Tucker and Bauer; one great-greatgrandchild, Knox. She was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Frazier, Rev. Dr. J. Roger Beason, Sr. and Dr. M. B. Morrow, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Cherokee Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cherokee Creek Baptist Church, "Debt Retirement Fund", 502 Buck Shoals Road, Gaffney, SC 29341.
The family will be at the residence, 305 Beason Road, Gaffney.
