Essie Mathis
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Essie Mathis, of 250 Hudson Barksdale Blvd., died on February 6, 2013, after a short illness.
A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mrs. Janie Moore. Mrs. Mathis retired from Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after 25 years of service. She also attended LifeSpring Church.
Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by one son, Mr. Cornell Mathis; two brothers, Mr. Edward and Broadus Jackson; and one sister, Mrs. Lillie Bell Fowler.
Mr. Mathis leaves to cherish fond memories: one brother, Mr. Frank Jackson of Tacoma, WA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

There will never be someone like you, Mother and Grandma Janie. You all were three of a kind. I learned so much from you all. Who you are made me who i am today and i am proud of me. We will love and miss each of you dearly. Tell Mother and GrandMother we said hello. Love your Niece, Dollie and Family.

I went to church with Miss Essie. What a dear saint. I know the angels are rejoicing. She is there with many of her loved one. I will miss her sweet smile and her sweet spirit.

I am truly going to miss Essie! She was a wonderful person and always kept a smile on her face even when she was at her sickest! I had the pleasure to work with her as her home health caregiver and will cherish all the many memories we had together! Prayers for all the family and friends that I know loved her dearly! I loved miss Eddie so much!
