Virginia Cobb
COWPENS, SC-- Virginia Dale McClellan Cobb, 70, formerly of 160 McGinnis Road, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Magnolia Manor in Inman.
Born in Waycross, GA, she was the wife of Terry Lynn Cobb and daughter of the late Gordon and Adell Fitchet McClellan. Mrs. Cobb retired from textiles, loved flowers and cooking, and was a member of New Pleasant Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband is a son, Scott Thrift and girlfriend, Linda of Rutherfordton, NC; a daughter, Peggy Arrowood and husband, Asa of Rutherfordton, NC; two stepsons, Tommy Cobb and wife, Michelle of Pacolet and Adam Cobb and wife, Liz of Mayo; a brother, Eugene McClellan of Manor, GA; three sisters, Geraldine Morgan of Waycross, GA, Darlene Ryalls of Macon, GA and Joanne Leach of Mooresboro, NC; three grandchildren, Dustin Arrowood and wife, Mandy, Trevor Arrowood and Amanda Thrift; three step-grandchildren, Carrington Owenby, Lily Reel and Kayley Thrift; a great-grandchild, Marissa Arrowood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Cameron Cobb.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 PM on Friday, October 5, 2012 at New Pleasant Baptist Church. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 PM at the Church with Rev. George Holland officiating. Interment will be in the New Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Regional Home Health Services, 120 Heywood Avenue, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
The family will be at the residence, 160 McGinnis Road, Cowpens.
