Hazel Painter
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Mrs. Hazel G. Waldrop Painter, 84, of Spartanburg, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 1, 2013. Born January 15, 1929, in Spartanburg County, she was the widow of Duran Alexander Painter, Sr. and the daughter of the late Luther C. Waldrop and Rachel Henson Waldrop. She retired from Mary Black Memorial Hospital as a CNA and LPN and was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church where she sang in the choir.
She is survived by one son, Duran "Sam" Painter, Jr. of Chesnee; two daughters, Sandra Johnson and her husband Oscar of Boiling Springs and Deborah Sellars and her husband Rick of Chesnee; three grandchildren, Susan Brooks, Jennifer Painter, and Samantha Cleveland; and by five great-grandchildren, Katelin Brooks, Jordan Thompson, Cloe Painter, Brooklyn Painter and Brandon Painter.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and two grandchildren, Robin Michelle Young and Robert Michael Young.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Eggers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at 2:00 pm at Springhill Memorial Gardens with Rev. Henry Coley officiating. Interment will follow the services.
The family will be at the home of Susan Brooks, 1010 Wall Circle, Chesnee.
