ARCADIA, SC-- Carl Lewis Kendall, 90, of 211 Oak St. passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at his residence. Born in Buffalo, NY, on January 28, 1923, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Kendall was the loving husband of Corrine Pye Kendall having celebrated 67 years of marriage prior to her death in September. Mr. Kendall served in the U.S. Army during World War II. During his service he received a Purple Heart, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with Three Bronze Stars, Combat Infantry Badge and a World War II Victory Ribbon. He retired from Draper Corporation.
He is survived by two sons, Danny Kendall and his wife Wanda of Inman and Dickie Kendall of Wellford; one half-brother, Elmer Kendall of Fayetteville, NC; along with 2 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Spartanburg at 3:00 PM on Thursday, February 14, 2013, with Rev. Joey Burnett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice, 775 Spartan Blvd. Suite 101, Spartanburg, SC 29301.
