Earl Theodore Baughman

"Country Earl"
SIMPSONVILLE, SC-- Earl Theodore Baughman "Country Earl" 79, of 411 Balcome Blvd., went home to be with the Lord, Monday, December 10, 2012, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
A native of Greenville County, he was the son of the late Herbie Theodore and Susie Mae Lackey Baughman. He was a member of Brookwood Community Church and the owner / operator of "Country Earl's Celebration Place". "Country Earl" was a beloved radio announcer / disc jockey with numerous upstate radio stations including WESC, WCKI, WFIS, WBBR, WAGI and WOLT where he hosted his "Country Earl's Country Classics Radio Show". Earl was an accomplished musician and songwriter and was inducted as a member of the "Rockabilly Hall Of Fame".
Survivors include three daughters, Tammy Joann Holt and her husband Larry of Taylors, Candace "Candy" Margaret Futrell of Simpsonville and Susan Lynn Hall of Taylors; one sister, Annie Mae "Anne" Kellett of Simpsonville; three brothers, Thomas Lucius Baughman of Atlanta, GA, Sammy "Sam" Ross Baughman of Simpsonville and Jerry Dillard Baughman of Greenville; six grandchildren, Benjamin Hall, Mary, Rebecca & Charlie Holt, Andy Futrell and Jessie Earl Baughman. He was predeceased by a son John Earl Baughman.
A "Celebration of Life Service" will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Brookwood Community Church. Visitation will be held at the church following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Earl's memory to The Muscular Dystrophy Association, 25 Woods Lake Rd., Suite 412, Greenville, SC 29607.
