Elbert J. Lamb

RUTHERFORDTON, NC-- Elbert J. G. Lamb of Rutherfordton, died Friday, February 1, 2013. He was son of the late Cleo and Ida Smith Lamb. He was married to his beloved wife, Mary Strange Lamb, for 64 years. He was a member of Sandy Springs First Baptist Church and was a retired farmer. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Dale S. Lamb (Tina) of Cornelius, NC; a daughter, Debra Lamb Justice (Bobby) of Inman; a granddaughter, Krissy Allison Justice (Keith) of Inman; a grandson, Lane Allison of Inman; four great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Leroy McCraw; and two nieces, Sonya Stott and Denise Wheeler.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Edna McCraw and Ruth Gramling; and a brother, Maurice Lamb.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 3, 2013, from 1:30-3:00pm at Sandy Springs First Baptist Church located at 382 Sandy Springs Road, Rutherfordton. Funeral services follow at 3:00pm at the church conducted by Rev. Philip Bailey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
